Motorcycle Breakfast and Structure Fire
Today (5/24) was the First of many Motorcycle Summer Breakfast Series events. All of Lower Swatara Fire Department members and auxiliary were excited and hoping for a great turn out. We did have a good turn out for the Memorial Day weekend event, with a little over 300 people. We are excited for our next event, which will be held June 28th from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. We would like to Thank all the people involved in help setting up from Firefighters to Auxiliary members, the cooks, fire police and our stand-by crew. A BIG Thank You to all that came out in support of our first breakfast and hope to see everyone and more for the next breakfast.
Londonderry Fire Police (54)
Company 47 (Stand-By Crew)
As we were breaking down from the breakfast and everyone was leaving our tones dropped for a possible structure fire in the 59-6 box. Chief 59-1 went in route in seconds and advised of smoke showing in the garage area. Engine 59 went in route and nosed in to the chief vehicle and went to work pulling lines and making entry. While Engine 59s crew made entry, Engine 59-1 laid in from the nearby hydrant and rescue 59 sent manpower forward to the structure. Truck 46 and Engine 49 went in route to the scene, once arriving Truck 46 assisted the interior crews with ventilation and overhaul and Engine 49’s crew was called for RIT. The interior crew knocked the fire down and kept it to the garage. Crews were out for about 2 hours.
