Accident with Injuries and Working Vehicle Fire

Yesterday, Company 59 was dispatched to a accident with injuries on interstate 283 east bound. Rescue 59 went responding with 4 personnel and got on the scene and found two vehicles off the side of the road. Rescue 59’s crew checked both vehicles for any hazards which none were found and assisted EMS with patient care. The event was clear within 45 minutes.

Later that night around 9:00 PM, Company 59 was dispatched to a vehicle fire. Lower Swatara Police Department got on the scene and advised that it was a working fire and it was fully involved. Chief 59-1 went in route within a couple of seconds after dispatch. Chief 59-1 got on the scene and had a fully involved vehicle on the Airport Connector Ramp to Spring Garden Drive. Engine 59 went responding within a couple of minutes of dispatch and got on the scene. Engine 59 pulled a CAFs (Compressed Air Foam) line, knocked the fire down and had it under control in about 10 minutes.
