Smoke in a Structure and Sign on Fire
Yesterday, Company 59 was dispatched to a smoke in a structure at Harrisburg International Airport, command advised of a small HVAC unit fire on division two which was extinguished quickly. Engine 59 responded and staged at company 70’s station. Engine 59 was then told by command to assist crews on division two of the terminal. Crews arrived at Division 2 with a light smoke condition and were told to assist with venting. A few minutes later, 59 crews were released by command. Crews operated for about an hour and a half.

A few hours later, Company 59 was dispatched to Best Western for an outside sign on fire. Chief 59 and Engine 59 responded within a few minutes along with Engine 59-1. Chief 59 arrived to find mulch on fire under the sign. Engine 59 arrived a couple minutes later and extinguished the small mulch fire with a pressurized water can. The box was placed in service a few minutes later. Crews were out for about 30 minutes.
