Basic Ropes and Rigging
Monday (1/25), Company 59 held their weekly training, the topic was basic ropes and rigging. The instructor D. Floyd and J. Brown taught the class. The start of the class started with basic knots that are needed to be known and practiced by all fire service personnel. The second half of the class was making a 4 and 1 hauling system. This system works very well in low angle rescues where the person being rescued can be in a stokes basket. The crews used the loft of the station and the two-ton crane that is attached to the second floor loft area.
