Weather.com reports…
WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EST SATURDAY.

LOW PRESSURE WILL CONSOLIDATE AND INTENSIFY NEAR THE SOUTHEAST VIRGINIA COAST LATE TONIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING… THEN MOVE OUT OVER THE ATLANTIC OCEAN SATURDAY AFTERNOON.

SNOW… HEAVY AT TIMES WILL CONTINUE THROUGH DAYBREAK SATURDAY… THEN SLOWLY BECOME LIGHTER AND MORE INTERMITTENT THROUGH THE LATE MORNING AND AFTERNOON HOURS.

SNOWFALL RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR WILL OCCUR THROUGH MUCH OF THE OVERNIGHT HOURS

TOTAL SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO RANGE FROM 15 TO 18 INCHES ACROSS THE SOUTHERN TIER COUNTIES OF PENNSYLVANIA. SOME LOCATIONS ALONG THE MARYLAND BORDER… AND ACROSS THE LAUREL HIGHLANDS COULD SEE STORM TOTAL SNOWFALL AS HIGH AS 20 TO 24 INCHES.

EAST TO NORTHEAST WINDS WILL GRADUALLY INCREASE LATE TONIGHT AND SATURDAY MORNING TO 15 TO 20 MPH. WITH SOME GUSTS AROUND 30 MPH ACROSS THE LAUREL HIGHLANDS AND LOWER SUSQUEHANNA RIVER VALLEY. THIS GUSTY WIND WILL CREATE SIGNIFICANT BLOWING AND DRIFTING OF THE SNOW… LEADING TO NEAR ZERO VISIBILITY AT TIMES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW MEANS A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF SNOW IS FORECAST THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL DANGEROUS. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL… KEEP AN EXTRA FLASHLIGHT… FOOD… BLANKET AND A CELLULAR PHONE IN YOUR VEHICLE IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY. TRAVEL IS NOT RECOMMENDED… ESPECIALLY ACROSS SOUTHERN PENNSYLVANIA WHERE THE HEAVIEST SNOW AND POOREST VISIBILITY WILL OCCUR.
