Working Fire at MAHS

This morning, July 21st, Company 59 was dispatched along with mutual aid units to the 59-3 box at Middletown Area High School for a working fire. The police department was on scene at the rear of the school, near the unattached weight room with a concession stand fully involved at the baseball field. Engine 59, Truck 88 and Engine 88 were out within a few moments of dispatch with chief 88 arriving confirming the report. Truck 88 arrived on location along with both Engine 88 and Engine 59 within seconds of each other. Truck and Engine 88 took the lane closest to the structure with Engine 59 following. Engine 88 pulled one handline and went to work, with Engine 59’s crew pulling a second line off of Engine 88. The crews went to work extinguishing the blaze; within a few minutes the fire was out with the concession stand a total loss. The crews then preformed overhaul to extinguish hot spots and to secure power to the structure. The box was then downgraded to Engine 59 with all other units going in service. The box was placed in service about a half of an hour later, crews operated for an hour and a half.

Great Job by all the crews involved!
