Working Job in the 59-5 Box.

Today, October 14th, Company 59 along with mutual aid units was dispatched to a reported house fire. The police department was on scene within a few seconds of the call, advising of a working fire and all occupants are out. Engine 59 responded with five personnel along with Truck 88 within a few minutes of dispatch. Engine 59 arrived on location dropping a line and proceeded up the street to start going to work. Engine 59 arrived with a double wide trailer with a fire in the rear of the structure with smoke and fire showing from the eaves on side A (Street Side). Truck 88 arrived soon after, within a minute, sending manpower to Engine 59 and immediately went to work with the 59 crew that was already operating on the bravo side along with an interior crew operating. Engine 59-1 reversed laid to the hydrant on Richardson Road next to the Hollywood Hotel. Engine 55 picked up the hydrant and sent crews to Engine 59 to be deployed to assist. As crews started to arrive, Command 59 (Furlong) was sending crews as needed along with establishing manpower at the rear of Engine 59. The crews knocked most of the rear fire down, within about 15 minutes with heavy fire in the attic/loft area which interior crews were working on pulling ceilings and making access to that fire. After about an hour, the fire was under control with hot spots and smoke still coming from the residence which crews were hooking and extinguishing the small spots of fire in the ceilings and walls of the residence. After about two hours, command marked control and units started going available per Command 59. The event was held to Company 59 and Truck 88 for about another thirty minutes to pick up, Truck 88 was released. Engine 59 picked up and Command 59 placed the box in service after about three hours of operating.
