Culinary Negligence and Entrapment for Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving, Company 59 was first dispatched to Middletown for an automatic fire alarm. Dauphin County had reports of smoke in the first floor apartment. Engine 59 responded with five personnel, once arriving per command 88 take the fire department connection on c/d corner and send the crew inside to investigate. The crew went inside and found burnt sweet potatoes, with no ventilation needed, Command placed the Engine 59 crew in service. Moments later, Command 88 placed the box in service.

Around 17:00 hours tonight, Box 59-7 was dispatched to the intersection of Ebenezer RD/Longview Drive for an accident with injuries. The police department was on scene with the vehicle on its roof. Chief 59-1 arrived first on scene and confirmed a single vehicle on its roof, with entrapment of one patient upside down. The crews gained access on the passenger side and assisted with removing a side window and gaining access to the patient. Once access was made the crew extricated the patient that was upside down. Once the patient was removed, the patient was loaded into the ambulance. The crew cleared the debris that was on the roadway and command 59 placed the box in service.
