Working Fire at PSU Harrisburg

Thursday, (2/3), Box 59-1 was struck for a possible fire at 777 W. Harrisburg Pike at PSU Harrisburg at the engineering building. Engine 59 responded within 2 minutes, Engine 59 arrived on location with heavy smoke showing to the rear of the building. Engine 59 took side C of the structure and the crew went to work stretching a single handline into the building. County stuck a 1st alarm due to the initial reports on scene. Truck 88 arrived on scene, taking Command 59 (Shope) per Engine 59’s crew; the truck crew went the roof along with outside venting of the garage door for the interior crews. Engine 55 arrived on location taking a hydrant and laying a line to Engine 59. The crew inside found a vehicle on fire inside the garage area with all people inside accounted for; the crew knocked the fire down quickly, holding the fire to the room of origin. Rescue 59 arrived on location; Lt 59-1 took manpower. Engine 49 arrived on location assisting Engine 55 crew along with Truck 88s crew with venting of the structure with fans. Once the fire was marked under control the FM was notified, Command 59 started releasing units.

This was a great job by all the crews involved.
