Early Afternoon MVA on Eisenhower BLVD

Around 11 am, Rescue and Engine 59 was dispatched to S. Eisenhower BLVD for a two vehicle accident with injuries with a person lying in the middle of the roadway. Rescue 59 responded with five personnel with Lt. 59 in the seat. Rescue 59 arrived behind EMS with two patients, one in the roadway, Lt. 59 setting up Command 59. FF/EMT Spadaro took patient care with the help of University EMS. The other patient was being taken care of by Swatara EMS with a small cut on the hand. The crew checked the vehicles for hazards which a substantial amount of fluid was leaking from both vehicles. The Rescue crew secured the vehicles and along with controlling the fluids. The crew packaged and loaded the patient into MICU 4-1. Once the patients were loaded, the crew awaited the Tow. Once the vehicles were removed with no services needed, Command 59 placed the box in service.

Rescue 59 also answered medial local for an unconscious male, while returning to Station 59 on Rosedale Avenue. The crew assisted EMS with patient care and lifting. The Rescue cleared the box within 10 minutes.
