Three Accidents in less than 48 hours.

Company 59 was first dispatched to Longview drive for a vehicle accident around 10 p.m. on Wednesday (7/20). Rescue and Engine 59 along with Chief 59-1 responded, once arriving on location with one vehicle on its roof with the patient in the middle of the roadway, setting up command 59. Rescue and Engine 59 arrived on location and assisted with patient care and packaging. Once the patient was in the care of EMS, the crew checked the vehicle for any hazards which none were found. Once the tow arrived and removed the vehicle, Command 59 placed the box in service.

The next vehicle accident was on Thursday (7/21) evening around 10:30 p.m., the location was given being on the airport connector. Rescue 59 responded immediately with six personnel. Rescue 59 arrived on location with a single vehicle in the middle of the roadway with the single patient out walking around. The crew started patient care and once MICU 4-1 arrived on location, the crew transferred care. The vehicle hit the median and did a 360 across the highway before resting in the right lane. The crew secured the vehicle and controlled the fluids. After the roadway was cleaned up, Command 59 placed the box in service. Units were out for about 35 minutes.

The final accident of week, came around 9 a.m. on PA 283, west. Chief 59 responded immediately with a two vehicle accident with a single injury. Rescue 59 arrived on location and assisted EMS with patient care. Once the patient was loaded into MICU 4-1 the crew awaited Pennsylvania State Police. Once PSP arrived on location, Command 59 placed the box in service.
