Confinement on Fulling Mill Road

Around rush hour (3/26), Company 59 along with Rescue 88 was dispatched to Fulling Mill Road and Oberlin for an accident with possible entrapment. Rescue 59 was out within seconds, and on scene as quickly due it being only a short trip down the road from the fire department. The Rescue arrived on scene with a single vehicle in the middle of the intersection with one injury along with another off the roadway with two occupants still inside the vehicle with one confined. Rescue 59 went to work quickly with stabilization and patient care with the other members starting to remove the passenger side door. Chief 59-1 and Chief 59-2 arrived on location with each taking their respective positions with Chief 59-1 taking command of the incident and Chief 59-2 taking operations. Engine 59 arrived on location with the crew assisting with patient packaging and loading along with clean up. Rescue 88 arrived on location and assisted with patient care and packaging along with hazard mitigation. Once all the patients were in the care of EMS. The tow company arrived on location to remove the vehicles; once the vehicles were cleared the crews cleared the debris and fluids off the roadway. With no other fire services needed, Command placed the box in service. Crews were out for about 45 minutes.
