Fatal Motorcycle Accident on Eisenhower BLVD
Yesterday Afternoon (4/16), Company 59 was dispatched to Eisenhower BLVD at Petroleum Products Corporation for a vehicle accident involving a motorcycle. Rescue and Engine 59 arrived on location with a trailer-trailer truck versus a motorcycle with the rider on the ground not moving. The Rescue and Engine crews went to work with patient care and hazard control. EMS arrived on location right behind Company 59 units. The EMS and Fire crews packaged and loaded the patient quickly. A crew member off of Engine 59 drove the ambulance to the hospital while the EMS crews worked on the rider. Unfortunately, the motorcycle rider succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, the Lower Swatara Fire Department sends our condolences to the family and friends of the rider. The crews stayed on scene for about two hours after to assist the accident reconstruction team with various tasks, crews were out for about three hours.
Utility and Engine 59 also responded to a medical emergency as well.
